Google Notifier error on OSX

Freshness Warning
This blog post is over 17 years old. It's possible that the information you read below isn't current and the links no longer work.

update (Mar 27) This morning, the Gmail Notifier notified me that a new version was available and offered to upgrade for me. After the update, everything works fine. I’m going to be obnoxiously egotistical and assume that my little post prompted Google to fix the problem.

A while back my Google Notifier stopped working. It’s sitting there in the menu bar but with a permanent error state.

Notifier Screen Shot

When I click on it and choose Go To Inbox, I get an error page from Google...

The URL of the page is...

https://www.google.com/accounts/TokenAuth?service=mail&source= macnotifier_1.9.90&continue=http%3A%2F%2Fmail.google.com%2Fa%2F feedcrier.com&auth=

The Firefox Google Notifier extension works fine, but it doesn’t have as many features (mainly the Growl alerts when new mail comes in).

Any ideas?
