Michael Caine: Remade

Freshness Warning
This blog post is over 19 years old. It's possible that the information you read below isn't current and the links no longer work.

I just saw a commercial for Alfie, a movie with Jude Law and Marissa Tomei that happens to be a remake of a 1966 Michael Caine film of the same name.

What is it with remade Michael Caine movies recently? Get Carter, The Italian Job, now Alfie. I’ve got to be missing a few. What else is there, and are any others coming?

I'd go see a Blame It on Rio remake. Starring, say, Kelsey Grammar in the Caine role, and Ben Stiller in the Joseph Bologna role.

I have seen both the original Italian Job and the remake. Trying to compare the two is difficult but I have to say the new one is better.
