Phone spam

Freshness Warning
This blog post is over 20 years old. It's possible that the information you read below isn't current and the links no longer work.

I just received SMS spam to my cell phone for the first time ever. I used to have a pager that had an email address and I’d get spam to that all the time. The purpose of the pager was to let me know if our servers went offline, so I had to keep it on all night long. Most spam was sent at 4am. That sucked.

Andy asked if the SMS spam was advertising Viagra. It wasn’t. It was advertising a cell phone booster antenna, so I suppose it was like Viagra for your phone.

Just wait until you get them in Spanish--that is when I knew things were bad.
