Content Management
Content Publishing

Traditional publishers can understand content management if they think about the terminology of content management in terms they understand. Demystifying Content Management lists some common terms used by content management professionals and translates them into the language of print publishing.
However, publishers should beware of oversimplification. For instance, information architecture is more complex than the indexes and table of contents in a book. Books are linear and are meant to be used front to back. Web sites are not. Jumping from section to section and site to site is common and is unique to the Web. It is important that publishers understand what makes the medium unique.
