Business Week has an article about Apple’s software bundling. (May 22, 2002, Where Apple Doesn’t Always Play Nice)
They discuss the fact that not only does Apple bundle software with their operating system, they often copy innovations created by third-party developers. The article mentions that while Apple hurts the developer of the particular application that they bundle, software development as a whole isn’t harmed: "Has Apple’s borrowing stymied innovation? I see no sign of it. In fact, despite Apple’s growing number of knockoffs, Mac software development appears to be entering a second golden age."
