A few readers have let me know that webHancer is now being installed with AudioGalaxy, an MP3 search tool.
I have also been told that the latest version of Ad Aware can safely remove webHancer. I haven’t tried it firsthand, so be careful.
I Have just run the latest version of Ad-aware personal edition - and it seems to have removed webhancer - at least for now. Previously I had lost internet access by trying to remove it but - going back to a windows xp restore point solved this problem.
Is there no way we can get such scumbags put out of business / sued to hell & back? They cause millions of dollars of damage and appear to not only get paid for their misdeeds but mascarade as a proper company while doing it.
How this Webhancer is disrupting and damaging my computer? Do anybody give me their electronic address or phone number? I would like for them to hear a piece of my mind. Count on me for a major law suit.

My husband's home pc suddenly began downloading Webhancer while he was searching the internet. He's not sure which site he went to, but it was downloaded. It was detected when he scanned his system for spyware using AdAware6. When he deleted it, as suggested by AdAware, Webhancer changed all his IPs, DNS, etc. He not only lost internet capabilities but everything on his pc was gone. He attempted to reinstall Windows XP, but to no avail. He is now left with reformating HD and reinstalling everything from scratch. PLEASE BE VERY AWARE.
