DMA Opt-Out
5 Jan 2002
You can also add yourself to the opt-out lists that are maintained by the Direct Marketing Association. DMA members send their mailing lists and telemarketer call lists to the DMA. The DMA then removes everyone that is on the opt-out list and sends the list back. They have lists for mail, email, and phone. Most small businesses and local companies don’t bother with this, but it can be a good way to get yourself off some call lists.
Go to http://www.dmaconsumerhelp.org/ and fill out the forms. You can either file electronically which costs you $5 or print out the page and mail it in for free.
