Wayback Bookmarklets

Here’s another Internet Archive trick. I’ve created some Bookmarklets that work with the Wayback Machine. Once you have installed the Bookmarklets, just click "Most Recent..." to see the latest archived version of the page or "Index..." to see the list of all archived copies. This works great for pages that are 404.

To install, right click the links below and select "Add to Favorites," "Bookmark This Link," or a similar option (the exact text will vary depending on your browser version). You can also drag the link to your Link bar in many popular browsers. Because the link contains JavaScript, you may get a warning from your browser that the link isn’t safe. Just ignore it and everything will be fine.

Update:
I’ve made some changes to the Bookmarklets to make them more error-proof. I’ve tested these in several browsers, but if you encounter a problem when using them, please let me know so I can fix it.

Update (November 19):
I’ve come up with better names for the Bookmarklets. The one called Go Wayback used to be called "Index at Internet Archive." The one called Latest Wayback Archive used to be called "Most Recent Internet Archive"
