In the battle against email worms and virii, Microsoft’s strategy has been to make sure that Outlook and Outlook Express can’t open files with certain file extensions. Instead they should be fixing the things that make the malicious code work int he first place. Blocking file extensions is a losing battle because works will just keep using different file types to deliver their payload, as the new PDF worm demonstrates.
