Following our tradition of being among the first to take advantage of extensions to the Movable Type plugin architecture, Kalsey Consulting Group proudly presents MovableJive, a port of some classic text filters to Movable Type 2.6.

Download MovableJive

Install this into your plugins directory, and you’ll have some new formatting options available from the Edit Entry Screen.

MovableJive adds the following text filters:

Jive

Texas Drawl

Cockney

Swedish Chef

Valley Girl

German Accent

Hunting Wabbits

Good work! A request, if possible... could you release a version where MovableJive appears only as one entry under the Text Formatting options, and uses tags instead of affecting the entire entry? Such as [jive] to activate the Jive filter and [/jive] to end it. That could be a possible solution for the corrupted URL problem, as well. Again, good work and thanks for this hilarious plug-in!

as for your jive plug does it actually use jive terminology i.e. "Let me ask you something" would translate to "Let me pull your coat for a minute" or "I'm hungry" would translate to "I'm starvin like marvin". It seem this would require a rather advanced translator.

Actually if you show me the guts of it I could probably add in phrase subsitutions. There are a number of good jive dictionaries around.

The filter does simple text substitutions to give the text you write a jive "accent." It doesn't change any phrases for you. If you want to add that, download the plugin and give it a shot.

that is pretty neat. for some reason the movable type plugin manager did not like installing it for me. it never has had any problems before with the .gz plugins, but did not like the jiveplugin.zip for some reason. not a big deal, after installing it i was shickled titless. it is pretty neat and certainly deserves to be with tikitext despite not being quite as practical.

i manually installed this into my plugins directory, and nothing showed up in the entry edit screen. i then re-installed it through the plugins manager, and still nothing. is there something i'm missing here?
