Fired For Blogging? Not Exactly... in Weblogs
No one is getting fired for blogging; they're getting fired for what they say on their blog. It's like people who, for example, say something inappropriate at a conference about the company they work for. They're not getting fired for "speaking" or for "conferencing," but what they said.

And while blogs' inherently open, anarchic nature may be unsettling, Mike Wing, IBM's vice president of intranet strategy, believes their simplicity and informality could give them an edge. But that informal transparency is precisely why many companies' embrace of blogs is at best uneasy. Internally, blogs have the potential to let employees who wouldn't otherwise be seen as authorities have a voice with a lot of impact.
blogging the market in Weblogs
It takes no technical savvy to set up a weblog and start talking to your customers. That's why weblogs are huge: they take the power out of the IT department and the webmaster's hegemony and hand it over to where knowledge really resides - to the individual workers who are knowledgeable enough and know how to speak with a human voice.
