Firefox niche extensions

Back when Firefox was Firebird/Phoenix, I subscribed to an RSS feed of extensions so I could keep track of the nifty new tools people were creating for the browser. I just unsubscribed from that feed. Dozens of new tools and updates are posted each day and any value was lost in the noise.

That’s cool.

The Firefox platform is now ubiquitous enough that people are building toolbars with search access to the Word Cup site, to give easy access to internet radio in Israel and other niche uses. Let me say that again: the majority of extensions now are for niche uses. How cools is that?
