Your Web site, like all other areas of your business, needs to be managed. Many companies, especially smaller organizations, leave this task to an employee who has volunteered to create and maintain the site.

Your Web site is an important part of your business and it needs to be treated as such. ClickZ’s "Why Someone Should Be in Charge of Your Web Site" describes why you need a clear management structure for your site. The article argues that you need a manager to plan and organize your site so that your visitors can find what they need.

Your Web site needs to be strategically aligned with your business, and only someone who is aware of your strategy can ensure that it is.
