Computerworld | Broadband bill wins House approval: "The legislation would eliminate requirements that incumbents open the data component of their local telephone networks to competitors before receiving approval from regulators to enter long-distance data markets.
"The incumbent carriers say they face the most competition from cable Internet service providers, which encounter fewer federal regulatory hurdles and can roll out services more cheaply."
